UC Hastings' OUTLAW and American Constitution Society Present: "The Other Letters" Symposium 5.5 CLE Credit Hours
On October 21st from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, the UC Hastings chapters of OUTLAW and ACS will present a symposium discussing "The Other Letters" and the sometimes incorporation of transgender, intersex, two-spirit, bisexual and asexual people under the umbrella of "gay rights" or "queer rights."
The opening panel will present background information on the history of political and social movements related to these less-discussed groups followed by legal panels addressing family law, health care, criminal law, and immigration law, focusing on how people with these identities face challenges that can be distinct from the more commonly discussed lesbian and gay issues.
Legal practitioners can earn up to 5.5 CLE credit hours for attending.
