U.S. EEOC Agency Event, 06/22

BALIF and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission are co-sponsoring a multi-federal agency event on June 22, 2017, (in The Ceremonial Courtroom or Hawaii Room or both) at the 450 Golden Gate federal building from 3-5 pm.  There are two confirmed speakers: Elizabeth Kristen from Legal Aid at Work and State Senator Scott Wiener.  Ms. Kristen will be speaking about the "State of Pride" in which she will give legal updates on cases that are advancing LGBT rights as well as discuss some setbacks the community has recently experienced.  The committee has asked Senator Wiener to talk about his experience being an openly gay senator in California.  There will also be a moment of silence to honor those who have died from hate crimes against trans people as well as a video to accompany the moment of silence.
