Jeff Kosbie is an associate at Gibbs Law Group where he represents plaintiffs in class actions and other complex lawsuits involving consumer protection, securities fraud, and employment law. He previously worked as a staff attorney in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and served as the Multidistrict Litigation Law Clerk to the Judges Lucy Koh, Beth Freeman, and Edward Davila of the Northern District of California. Jeff started his legal career as a staff attorney at Positive Resource Center where he advocated for medical care and Social Security disability benefits for people with HIV and mental health disabilities.
Jeff has been on the BALIF Bar Association board since 2018 and previously served as Treasurer. He is also on the BALIF Foundation Board, where he serves as Treasurer. Jeff is a 2015 graduate of Northwestern University School of Law and Northwestern University Graduate School where he received a J.D. and a Ph.D. in Sociology. He has published multiple articles in law reviews and sociology related to the history of LGBTQ rights, and he continues to present on these topics.
Jeff lives in Oakland with his husband. In his free time, he enjoys running ridiculous distances on mountain trails around the Bay Area (and beyond).
