Hanna Chan

Hanna currently serves as a Deputy Alternate Public Defender at the Solano County Alternate Public Defender's Office where they manage a misdemeanor caseload. Prior to being hired as a DPD in Solano County, they completed a post bar clerkship in Santa Clara County Alternate Defender's Office and interned at the Solano County ADO during law school.

Hanna has a JD from UC Davis School of Law and a BA in Gender Studies from Georgetown University. They are committed to serving the queer as well as Asian  community in many capacities. They work with attorneys in the Asian American Criminal Trial Lawyers Association (AACTLA), Solano County Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA), and most recently was trained as a trans/gender non-conforming peer counselor to provide free therapy to community members through Lavender Phoenix.

In their free time, they enjoy exercising, reading, journaling, thrift shopping, singing, playing guitar, and enjoying music of all kinds. They hope to make the legal profession a more inclusive and accessible space with BALIF and fight the criminal legal system as a new trial attorney.
