Caleb Krywenko

Caleb Krywenko (He/Him) is a JD Candidate (class of ‘25) at University of California, School of Law San Francisco (“UC Law SF”). In the summer between his first and second year of law school, he served as a Judicial Extern for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District Court of California to the Hon. William H. Orrick. After law school, Caleb plans to build a trial and litigation practice here in the Bay Area, representing businesses in San Francisco, California, and beyond.

Caleb values community service. He’s worked on several neighborhood boards and committees prior to joining BALIF. And in 2023, he co-founded a student organization (UC Law SF Education & Law Society (“EdLS”)), which is dedicated to expanding access to legal education, and furthering discussions at the intersection of education and law. He also served as an Aide to a local representative for the City & County of San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors, working on legislation to introduce the Safe Parking Pilot (a first for San Francisco), a program that connected city residents living in their vehicles to services and an eventual offramp to permanent, stable housing. He’s a strong advocate for housing affordability and smart land use policy.

Caleb is a California native, originally from Orange County, CA, and has lived in San Francisco since 2012. Prior to law school, Caleb worked for an education-technology startup that focused on advancing access to college education and developing innovative solutions to the student debt crisis. Caleb earned an MA and BA in Philosophy from San Francisco State University. Caleb also worked in San Francisco’s food and beverage industry for several years. His experiences working in food and beverage industry originally sparked his intertest in attending law school and has contributed to his ongoing advocacy for low-wage workers’ rights and community service.

In his free time, you can find him in his kitchen experimenting with something delicious, on a run in Golden Gate Park, or wandering the streets of foggy San Francisco.
